Craziness from Gene Vincent

After yesterday’s heavy post, I thought I ought to give you something to help you forget the troubles of the world. I couldn’t think of a better way to do that than with the absolutely manic head scratcher from the great Gene Vincent and his Blue Caps, “B-I-Bickey-Bi, Bo-Bo-Go.” There’s nothing like the early Gene Vincent stuff; the guy was absolutely brilliant. I read a comment under a video of one of Vincent’s songs that said simply, “No Gene Vincent, no party.” I couldn’t have said it better myself. If you want to get yourself started and just want to feel good, listen to tunes like this one, “Race with the Devil,” “Jump Back, Honey, Jump Back,” “Jump, Giggles, and Shout,” and so many other great songs. Soak yourself in those classic Cliff Gallup guitar solos and riffs. Get energized by all the crazy Blue Caps screaming and shouting. And let Gene’s strangely comforting voice put you in that place of contentment that’ll carry you through. It’ll remind you of exactly why you fell in love with rockabilly in the first place. I guarantee it.
