We all know about Brenda Lee: “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” and “I’m Sorry,” were just her two mega hits and she had tons of others. But this video just knocks me out. Truly a child star, here she is singing what was her second charting single, “Dynamite” on the show Ozark Jubilee in 1957. This is the song that gave her the nickname “Little Miss Dynamite.” Just listen and you’ll know why. It almost makes your head hurt trying to figure out how that voice could possibly come out of that little girl! She was just 12 years old when she appeared in this clip. Amazing! The wonderful Bear Family Records out of Germany has a new 36-song collection of Lee’s materials coming out at the end of May. Wonderful stuff.
