When I listen to Johnny Burnette’s “You’re Sixteen” I can just imagine the record company execs cringing as he hiccups his way through the line, “You’re my baby, your my pet” and growls through, “Ewww when we kiss, I could not stop” with that trademark Johnny Burnette attitude. Try as they might, they couldn’t over produce the rockabilly outta the boy! Not even with a string section and slick back-up vocals. Man, this guy was great! Enjoy.
